Urban living, with all its boons, sometimes can take a toll on your mind. Sometimes I so wish I had been living in a more humbling place free from the din and cacophony of city life. Despite the speed, comfort, and modern amenities that are meant to upgrade life, cities are shamefully high on pollution index, of all sorts. Waking up to a cool blue sky in the morning is a way better sight for all eyes – and enough for me to want to head to the hills every now and then! J
In search for places closer to nature (and less frequented by humans) I opt for frequent mini-vacations to ‘greener pastures’ (literally) and set off for the mountains where the sky is inevitably brighter, bluer and clearer. These gateways replenish the system like nothing else can! There are many popular hill-stations in the country one can opt for when planning a short vacation to the hills in India. But rooting for the less-known places in the hills has its own advantages – they are less crowded and more pocket-friendly. The following are some of my personal favorites.
