Bagini Glacier Trek

The Bagini glacier runs down northward from the Trishuli and Changabang peaks, which border the North West rim of the Nanda Devi sanctuary. The melt waters of the Bagini runs westward, where it marries the Drunagiri glacier waters coming down from the Purbi Dronagiri ridge. Further west they are joined by the Lampak stream and they finally flow into the Dhauli Ganga, just north of Jumma village. Cuddled into stunning heights, this trail allures with captivating grassy stretched canvassed with vibrant wild flowers, crystal clear glacial streams, sights of frosty summits, adventurous rocks and boulder ridden paths and scenic hamlets, nestled within the captivating mountains.

The trek begins at the Jumma village. As the region is very close to Tibet, diverse culture can be found there. The first welcome one gets here is from the fierce winds f the Tibetian Plateau. The first stretch of the trek, to Ruing village , the first campsite, is a gentle ascent through charming conifers with the backdrop of frosty peaks. This trail takes you through numerous ascents and descents through meadows and rocky terrains, intersected with brooks and moraines with only cairns to guide the path. This trek also gives the trekkers the chance to visit the base camp of the mighty Changabang peak. With views of the intriguing Changabang, Kalanka, Trishuli, Dronagiri, Hathi and Ghora peaks, this trail is a compulsion for adventure lovers.
