Nestled in the Nagaon and Golaghat districts of the north eastern state of Assam, Kaziranga National Park is one of the richest biodiversity hotspots of India. The evergreen forest holds India’s largest population of one horned Rhino and the highest density of tigers. This eastern Himalayan moist forest is also known for its bird population and is a dreamland for birders. The park was established as a reserve forest in the year 1905 and established as a tiger reserve from 2006.

GroupOuting™ operates photographic as well as Leisure trips to Kaziranga in between November to May months each year. For leisure trips guests are provided perfect hospitality at renowned Eco Lodges mostly close to rivers. Where one spend nights with Karbi dishes, enjoy star watching, experience nature trails, hear songs of birds and witness the local folklores. Both elephant rides and Jeep safaris are provided inside the jungle to feel the essence of nature. Sightings of rhinos, herds of elephants, water buffaloes and various birds will leave a lasting memory.

GO photography expeditions are conducted with local guides who have years of experience on field as well as under a birding guide. The zones are selected as per sighting information available one night prior to the date of safari. Generally we avoid elephant rides to spend more time in jungle.

The park is biodiversity hotspot in Eastern India and crisscrossed by major rivers like Bramhaputra. The habitat includes River banks, grasslands, tropical broadleaf forest, marshlands, water bodies which makes it ultimate destinations for photography. The GO visits all four ranges of the park during safaris to explore all these habitats.

The park is an important Birds as mentioned by Birdlife international.Commonly seen birds are lesser white-fronted goose, ferruginous duck, Baer's pochard duck, lesser adjutant, greater adjutant, black-necked stork, Blyth's kingfisher, white-bellied heron, Dalmatian pelican, spot-billed pelican, Nordmann's greenshank, black-bellied tern. The rare birds like eastern imperial, white-tailed, Pallas's fish eagle, grey-headed fish eagle, lesser kestrel are spotted here. Indian vulture, slender-billed vulture, Indian white-rumped vulture and Game birds include the swamp francolin, Bengal florican, and pale-capped pigeon can also be seen with more to be listed. Go runs birding expeditions here during winter to see the migratory birds from central India.

The park is also home to Pythons. Kraits , Cobras and Vipers as well as various species of turtles. With luck one can even spot elusive cats here.
