GroupOuting™ runs unique red panda adventures at India’s Singalila National Park. Red Panda is one of the most endangered species and scheduled on IUCN Red List. Till now there are 30 odd Red Pandas living in wild hills of Singalila range.
Choosing the right season – Red Pandas are very vulnerable to heat, they can’t bear high temperatures above 25°C. In summers they are hardly seen as they spend most of time in shaded areas, mostly hidden into tree hollows or tall bamboo growths. In monsoon due to heavy rainfall the roads to trek will be muddy and chances of landslide increases. As well as pandas are hard to see as the vegetation grows. In winters for severe cold and snowfall this trek is strictly avoidable.
In Spring and autumn season the months of March – April and October to November months are best season to spot Red Pandas in the wild . This is the time when new fruits and flowers blossom which lures the Panda out on the branches. The morning temperature remains ideal for Pandas to come out and their activities increases as they prefer sunbathing.

How GO Expeditions are organized – Red Panda tracking is one of GO Exclusive’s endangered wildlife tracking experience of a lifetime. The trips are headed by a seasoned naturalist who has previous experience in tracking pandas in wild. A group of young local enthusiasts works round the clock on ground as per information available prior to the advent of the trip. After getting a proper confirmation from ground force the participants trek through the misty rhododendron forests to sight the elusive species. It takes high amount of patience, perseverance and physical fitness for a stretch of at least a week to witness red pandas in the wild.
Mode of travel – All travel inside the park areas will be mainly on foot or on old Land Rovers.
